How to change your personal details on Shutterstock?
How to add pictures to sets?
Some updates arrived in 2016.
At last a brand new features appear on the Shutterstock‘s site. FINALLY there are the public profiles available for contributors and image GALLERIES (sets)! If you are the contributor use the link below to edit yout personal details:
CLICK : Edit Your Public Information
The URL format to the public profile has changed again to (use your gallery ID or user name).
With my user name (plrang) and the numerical user ID it looks like this
http://shutterstock.com/g/plrang or
http://www.shutterstock.com/gallery-328114.html
Not so long before profiles were unavailable to view and only EDITABLE under following URL: http://shutterstock.com/profile/plrang
Here you can see the portfolio page with the new FOLLOW’able contributor profile. (FOLLOW has disappeared in 2016-07)
Does it look better in 2016? I think it does, yet missing social links and artist website link, also the vanished Follow Button may show that Shutterstock wants to diminish the contributor’s position. Also notice there is no longer the image count number. Everyone is gonna look almost the same, authors personality is removed (except images of course). Hopefully they will bring those features back, but observing all the social media sites and other microstock agencies makes me doubt it.
USER created GALLERIES are AVAILABLE now, called SETS.
2016 URL format: http://www.shutterstock.com/g/plrang/sets
Old URL in format: http://www.shutterstock.com/gallery-328114/artist-picks
Really, I have no idea why they have so many different links pointing to the same places. Pretty weird policy. Seems like each new webmaster is using what he likes. If they want to increase the SEO performance that’s the way to go. Google loves duplicated content. Justlike it loves the spam in titles and in keywords.
You may have sorting problems with the new sets, so be patient and wait for the fix.
Link format to the new sets (artist picks) is different from these set in Catalog Manager.

vs

Both lead to the same content. First one contains the user profile and second one has the search panel. It doesn’t look good this way, but hopefully it will be changed (I doubt;)).
Also a nice feature is the possibility to sort images in sets, at the very bottom of your public profile editor and arrange images in sets, using simple drag and drop technique.
Even better trick is to double click an image while browsing the set in Catalog Manager to edit image metadata!
How to change the image that appears as the set icon?
